Home » Photo Gallery » Inauguration of Lalit Kala Academi Exhibition "Moderns" in Vienna

The Exhibition titled “Moderns” was inaugurated on 15th October at the University of Applied arts. The exhibition exhibits the permanent works of the Lalit Kala Academi Collection which includes works of more than 40 artist of Modern period including M.F. Hussain, Tyeb Mehta, Bimal Das Gupta, K.K.Hebbar and other famous artists from India.

 

The exhibition is a part of a bilateral culutral exchange arrangement between the Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA) and the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. The LKA hosted an exhibition titled 'Artists in Multifunction' in Delhi, in February 2013 consisting of art works by various artists from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.

 

The inauguration event of the exhibition Moderns had participation from Austrian Federal Ministry, Embassies in Vienna, UN bodies and artists and connoisseur of arts in Vienna.

 

The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Ambassador Swaminathan and Ambassador Dr. Theresa Indjein, Culutural section of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

 

The exhibition would be on display till 8th November at Exhibition Center Heiligenkreuzer Hof, Schonlaterngasse 2, Vienna. There would also be a symposium "Modernism and Beyond" as a part of the exhibition on 28th October 2013 to address the contributions and perspectives on the subject of Modernism, emphasizing exchange and reflection both on artistic and theoretical levels.
