The celebration on the occasion of the Constitution Day was held in Vienna on 25th November. The celebrations consisted of a talk on "The Indian Constitution and the Constituent Assembly Debates" by Prof. Dr. Martin Gaenszle, an expert on Cultural and Intellectual History of Modern South Asia, from the Institute of South Asian Tibetan and Buddhist Studies of the University of Vienna. The talk was followed by a Q&A session. The Embassy also screened the 1st episode of the Rajya Sabha TV Documetnary "Samvidhan" which reflects on the formation of the Constituent assembly and the challenges being faced by the makers of the Constitution of India. The Embassy also organised an essay competition for school students on the topic of "Salient Features of the Indian Constitution". The participants and the winners of the Essay Competition were also awarded prizes during the celebrations on 25th November. Members from Indian community and local Austrians were present at the event in good number.
